Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp dried parsley

  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp hot honey (plus more for drizzling)

  • 1/2 cup flour (or enough to coat)

  • Oil for frying

  • For the sauce:

  • 2 tbsp tamari (or soy sauce)

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 1 tbsp hot honey

  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

  • 1/2 tsp paprika

  • 1/2 tsp parsley

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp cornstarch or flour (to thicken)

  • Splash of water

Directions

  • Season & Coat: In a bowl, mix shrimp with red pepper flakes, paprika, parsley, garlic, and hot honey. Let it marinate for 10–15 minutes if you have time. Then toss the shrimp in flour until fully coated.
  • Fry Shrimp: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the shrimp in batches for about 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside on a paper towel-lined plate.
  • Make the Sauce: In the same pan (remove excess oil if needed), add tamari, sesame oil, hot honey, red pepper flakes, paprika, parsley, and garlic. Stir in cornstarch or flour and a splash of water. Let it simmer for a minute or two until thickened.
  • Toss it Together: Add the fried shrimp back into the pan and toss to coat them in the sticky, spicy sauce.
  • Serve: Garnish with extra parsley, sesame seeds, or a drizzle of hot honey if you’re feeling wild. Serve over rice, noodles, or on their own as an appetizer.

This Hot Honey Garlic Shrimp is proof that bold flavor doesn’t need a long ingredient list. It’s spicy, sweet, crunchy, and ready in under 30 minutes. If you love quick weeknight meals that still feel a little indulgent, save this one to your rotation.
